Google's rising interest in InsurTech is undeniably clear, with nine investments and partnerships to support auto, home and health insurance products as well as to find new ways to engage with customers with innovative new digital tech.
Three of Google's investments and partnerships in 2015 were in the health insurance space only.
Insurers such as American Family, Liberty Mutual, AXA as well as the well know Climate Corporate have become key Google partners in their drive to differentiate through innovate.
Google has signed off on at least 6 separate partnerships and investments in insurance tech just this year, according to a CB Insights analysis of its activity. Most notably, Google launched its Google Compare service in March 2015 in partnership with CoverHound and Compare.com, allowing users to check rates from 21 different auto insurance providers. But Google’s forays into the insurance space reach beyond auto insurance.
